Rushen Roundtable unveiled their newest fun raising idea at the fair field on Tynwald Day eariler this week… the Human Fruit Machine.
The public’s reception of the human fruit machine was unanimous and overwhelming. At the end of the day Chairman Carl Hawker reported “I am so proud of all of you that helped out today at tynwald fair. The joy on the faces of both kids and adults made it a real success.”
The proceeds go to this years Chairman’s charity PHAB (Physically Handicapped Able Bodied Club) which Rushen Roundtable have been supporting for over 20 years.
The overall profit on the day was over £500 and the next outing of the Human Fruit Machine will be on Friday 9th July at the Queenie Festival in Port Erin, the machine will become the Human Fish Machine for one night only.
Youtube footage can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCGuraDPZfs which will hopefully be a good link on the IOM Newspapers website.
People can see the Human Fruit Machine in action over the summer at the St.Mark’s Fair and the Southern Agricultural Show.
