PLEASE READ ON – FINANCE RELATED TIME SENSATIVE INFORMATION !!
The Area 8 Meeting hosted by Southport Hesketh 1199 on the 1st October 2010 saw the continued investment in Area 8 as voted on by the members present. The forthcoming resolutions proposed by the National Board were also debated and voted on – details of which will follow shortly with the circulation of the minutes and reports from the evening.
MONEY FOR YOUR TABLE!
The proposal passed was for the Area funds to match the investment by each individual Table in the Regional Workshops to a maximum of £50 per Table. So if your Table pays for one delegate for a workshop Area 8 will pay for another delegate in a different Workshop (The workshops must be different – i.e. One delegate attends Workshop #1, another attends Workshop #2 etc).
The workshops are being held across the country so you can make a trip of it or attend the local workshops in Preston at the end of this month. Details on how to book in for the workshops can be found at http://www.roundtable.co.uk/events/409/regional-workshop-preston-lancashire/ . I can personally and whole heartedly recommend them and would particularly like to see Area 8 Tables attending the web workshop and take up the new web platform – giving all Tables in Area 8 their own on-brand and on-message web presence.
Time is of the essence gentlemen – if you intend on booking in for the local Preston workshops DO NOT DELAY – BOOK IN NOW!
Finally I would like to thank SHRT for organising the evening and all those who attended for the lively and positive debate and discussions. The evening was rounded off with the Area 8 Ten-Pin Bowling at which all enjoyed the refreshments and banter 🙂
Yours In Table
Mark
Area 8 Chairman
As you probably know Southport Hesketh Round Table lost a member tragically earlier this year, Tony McWade.
In early Feb 2011 we are organising a 10k race in Tony’s memory and are trying to get as many people involved as possible
The race is open to all, experienced and non-experienced runners…… It’s a great way to focus on losing weight after Christmas !
It is also incredible value offering chip timing, a medal, a tee shirt, goodie bag and lots of prizes
If you would like to find out more, or register, please visit the run website. If you know someone who might like to get involved, please pass on the details
After the race there will be a table meeting area to socialise. If anyone from your table enters please contact Adrian Shandley (SHRT Sports) with names and table so they can by identified on the day.
Equally we will be using the event as a membership drive because we think a lot of males under 40 will compete
Thanks for your support in advance.

Adrian ShandleyThree past and present Tablers at the weekend ran the great north run, and did it in true Round Table style
Ben and Lee decided to stop along the way at three different pubs starting at between 5 and 6 miles for a pint of Stella.
so after stopping for 3 pints, a 99 ice cream, and half a burger each we finished it in 3:25.30 but it was completed in true table spirit.
After consulting my GPS watch, and deducting the time stopped for all the goodies, we completed the run in 2:48.09. Bring it on next year !
We may actually train for that one. Together this year we raised over 1.5k for the Anthony Nolan Trust which has always been a favourite charity of round table
