Gentlemen
There are less than two weeks to go until the 80th Luncheon and to make sure things run smoothly we wanted to give you all some more information about the day.
Arrival: Doors open at 12.30pm. You will be using the North Entrance – this is the one opposite the Walker Art Galley/ Liverpool Library.
For those coming by car we recommend driving up William Brown Street from the Tunnel entrance and dropping off at the top of the road.
Parking Permits: If you are bringing your car we have a small number of parking permits available to allow you to park outside of St George’s Hall for the duration of the event – the cost is £10 which is a huge saving on City Centre parking.
Please contact me if you would like one of these; they will be issued on a first come, first served basis.
Tickets: We will not be issuing tickets for the event; the door staff will have a full list of everyone who has booked in. Please note the door staff are provided by St George’s Hall – they are not tablers and probably wont have a sense of humour regarding Round Table jokes – you have been warned!!
Cloakroom: Although we have booked good weather for the day there will be a cloakroom available for hats & coats.
Drinks Reception: On arrival there will be a drinks reception in the North Hall provided by Halewood International.
Photographer: There will be an official photographer on hand to capture the sights of today’s historic event. I’m sure you’ll agree that he will produce a much better record than you ever can with your own phone or camera, especially as he isn’t drinking so no out of focus shots towards the end of the day! If you would like a copy of the pictures that Martin takes then please contact me.
A CD with all of today’s photos will cost £7.50.
Timings: The meal will start at 1.30pm. Please ensure you are seated by then.
Drinks: There is a bar in the Great Hall where we will be eating that will take cash & cards. Please note there is no cash machine in the venue.
Meal: There is a four course meal with half a bottle of wine per head provided. The bar will be open throughout the event with waitress service to your table. They will have draught & bottled lager, draught bitter, wine & spirits and Port for the cheese course.
Raffle: Several of our sponsors have generously donated raffle prizes including a Snooker Cue & Case that Dennis Taylor will sign for you on the day, a Stephen Gerrard signed & framed England shirt, designer sunglasses, a case of wine, a drinks hamper, a DIY hamper and a Land Rover Experience Voucher. Please support them as without their sponsorship we would not be at this magnificent venue.
Aftershow party: The Luncheon finishes at 5pm but the celebrations continue. Gentings Casino, a 5 minute walk from the St George’s (10 minutes if you’re staggering) are opening up their VIP lounge for us and offering everyone who goes a £5 Free Bet.
That’s it guys. The Luncheon Committee promised you over a year ago that this would be an event to remember and we have all worked incredibly hard to make it so. I hope you are all as excited as we are – with 250 people booked in it, two guest speakers, a brass band plus other entertainment it is going to be a great celebration of the best of Area 8.
See you all on the 20th.
